**The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (yes, the Mormon Church) has come out with a series of books that illustrate the history of the LDS Church. But guess what? They are 0% boring like you might think a history book would be. The books will be released in 14 languages and will be accessible online at LDS.org as well as on the Gospel Library app. The books haven’t yet been released so in the meantime, we will be releasing our take on each chapter that is released each month.**
Chapter 2 of Saints talks about the Joseph Smith’s first vision. Mormons believe Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ in person. We believe that the first vision was one of the greatest events in the history of the world. Joseph Smith was told that while many religions had true beliefs, none had the authority of God (the priesthood).
