Richard Ostler joined us for this episode to talk about something very important: LGBTQ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, otherwise known as the Mormon church.

For quite some time, the restored Church of Jesus Christ has been scrutinized for their position on LGBTQ issues. Not enough love has been expressed to those who align LGBTQ and, according to Richard Ostler, the Church needs to do a better job at loving ALL people, regardless of sexual orientation. While the Church currently maintains the belief that an eternal marriage is between a man and a woman sealed in a temple, it is becoming more and more imperative to accept all people as children of God since that is what Jesus would do. As Richard pointed out, Jesus spent a large majority of his time conversing with and loving those who were cast out by the majority and we should follow his example by loving those who feel downtrodden.

While these views aren’t necessarily representative of the Church as a whole, we loved hearing the opinion of Richard Ostler and learning from his insights.
